Great Decisions is a national, grassroots foreign policy discussion program sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association. Each year eight topics of current importance are discussed by people in small groups all over the United States. Additional information about this program can be found here.
Topic: U.S.– China Trade Rivalry
- China’s economic rise and its current policies of increasing the role of the state in the economy have led some U.S. policymakers to seek to deny China access to U.S. technology and investment. This is seen as a necessary corrective to decades of predatory Chinese economic policies. Is this a wise strategy, and how effective can it be?
The local Hillsboro group meets at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Washington County, 6815 NE Birch St, Hillsboro on the first and third Saturdays during February through May. January meeting is to volunteer to present a specific topic. Each meeting is at 10:00 am in the church social hall.
