Village Without Walls

A COMMUNITY OF FRIENDLY, ENGAGED SENIORS

Village Without Walls is a dynamic, inclusive, caring community of older adults who support each other in active, independent living.

Village members come together to create new opportunities for what’s next as we age. Through regular connections,
members form deep friendships that help keep them as engaged and vital members of the community.

In addition, fully vetted volunteers are available to provide transportation and help with household tasks as needed.

Our Village is Not a Place, But a Network of Caring Neighbors.

We Provide

Community - Members in Hillsboro, Cornelius, Forest Grove, and Aloha make friends and participate in a variety of events: educational programs, socials, fitness sessions, potlucks, picnics, coffee groups, book clubs, and wellness activities.

Mutual Support - We are all types of people—retired, working, longtime and recent residents, couples, singles, active folks, and those with physical limitations who want to grow with and rely on each other.

Resources - We offer information about and referrals to community organizations or agencies that serve seniors, as well as member recommendations for vendors that provide services beyond what our volunteers do (such as plumbing, roofing, and electrical work).

Services - Volunteers provide transportation, minor household maintenance, short-term pet care, light yard chores, and technology assistance to our members.

Village Without Walls knows that providing opportunities for social interaction is very important for seniors in our communities.

Social, cultural, educational events, plus exercise, organized games and arts and crafts activities are organized by Village volunteers. We also publicize community events and activities that we think would be fun, helpful or educational for our members.
