Volunteer Opportunities in Village Operations

Village teams handle all the day-to-day operation of the Village. Each Village Team has a list of tasks, large and small, that keep things moving. Listed below are the various VillageTeams with their main responsibilities.

Membership Team
  • Conduct information sessions and attend tabling events for member recruitment
  • Conduct pre-membership home visits
  • Update and maintain all forms and informational documents for members
  • Evaluate member satisfaction
  • Manage membership renewals

Village Services Team:
  • Schedule and monitor member service requests in Club Express
  • Work with Volunteer Coordinator to assure that member service requests are completed
  • Coordinate the forwarding of other non-service requests received by email or phone and update the daily contact log
Activities  and Events Team:
  • Poll members for activity interests
  • Plan ongoing activities for community building
  • Track social, educational, cultural and fitness activities
  • Plan yearly member and volunteer events

Community/Business Outreach Team:
  • Schedule community outreach efforts
  • Dispatch volunteers for outreach events
  • Attend civic and local business events

fundraising process Fundraising Team
  • Develop  & implement Resource Development Plan
  • Identify funding sources to supplement member fees and to provide scholarships
  • Network with local community governments, organizations and vendors to identify potential donors and sponsors
  • Raise cash reserve for ongoing Village operational expenses

Communications/Technology Team
  • Update and maintain user-friendly website and Village Facebook
  • Maintain shared documents and communications from the Village to Village Network and Villages NW that are needed by various teams
  • Send out email communications, including newsletters, event reminders, volunteer hours reminders, and fundraising appeals
  • Collaborate with other Village Teams to provide website and social media content
  • Help to train volunteers on use of Club Express, our cloud-based database and website management system
  • Update Club Express member, non-member and service databases


Marketing Team:
  • Target messages to specific populations
  • Refine & implement Marketing Calendar
  • Support the work of all teams with print, email, newsletter, and social media

  • Identify, recruit and train volunteers
  • Connect with potential volunteers through both friend referrals and online sources
  • Train volunteers using the Volunteer Manual and at informal sessions
  • Provide feedback and show appreciation for volunteer efforts

Office/Services Team
  • Coordinate Village mailings
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, name badge creation, distributing Village materials by email or mail
  • Send thank you, birthday and congratulations cards to donors, members and volunteers
  • Collect member-recommended service providers for our list
  • Educate volunteers/members about service resources and facilitate use of them
  • Oversee, evaluate and update available services resource

Administration and FinanceTeam
  • Provide strategic planning 
  • Update the annual Village budget
  • Track finances
